For those of you who don't know me...
My name is Terri and I am a basket maker, knitter and photographer with a travel habit. My blog is mostly about my creations with needles, both pine and knitting. I love to feel the texture of things. The softest yarns and silks and the smoothness of a finished basket are some of what I live for. And although these crafts are almost polar opposites, I've found that my creativity blooms during the in-between times of working on one or the other. Since there's really no reason to choose between the two, I continue to do both. I've also come up with a crazy idea on a project which will combine both and am designing it now. So come back to see my progress :-)
My husband and I also love to travel, and to document our trips with photos and opinions. Here is where I get to share my photos, adventures and experiences...with you.
My giveaway... a small sweetgrass pendant.
Everyone who leaves a comment on this post will be entered to win one of my handmade pendants. This one is made from sweetgrass. The winner will be announced HERE on February 15th. Please make sure that your comment includes your email or blog so that I can reach you if you are the winner!
The winner of the Giveaway is Una at Great Balls of Wool.

ReplyDeleteYour baskets are beautiful, such great work. That takes a lot of care and skill. Wonderful to visit you from 2 Bags Full. Di@ Cottage-Wishes.
ReplyDeleteA sweetgrass pendant is such a nice idea. I lived on the prairies for years and sweetgrass is a significant part of native ceremonies-is this the same in Florida? I live on the west coast of Canada but iIve spent time in Nova Scotia and appreciate the rugged beauty and the friendly people.
ReplyDeleteHello from Yukon! I hope you're enjoying this party as much as I do.

ReplyDeleteHello Terri
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my GYB post. I like how you decided on the name for your blog and also your baskets and pendants. Sweet grass has such a heavenly scent, your home must smell good when you're crafting.
Terri, sounds like we have a lot in common traveling, making jewelry...and that is the nice thing about this blog hop, is that it gives a chance to find other bloggers out there we enjoy reading their stories. I will be back and thank you for stopping by my blog. Love the pendant.

ReplyDeleteHi Terri, I'm visiting from GYB and following via Google friends. Just have to tell you that I had a go at basket weaving and it's not as easy as all that...lol. I did make a tray-type-thing which I'm inordinately proud of! I spend months at a time in England, and will look for a course because I'd like to learn more about it. Off now to do more hopping about, but am looking forward to getting to know you more. :)
ReplyDeletethank you for visisting my blog. Love your baskets and also love your photos.
ReplyDeleteHi Terri, so nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by my corner of the world where travel is definitely a big part of my life. :) Love your baskets. I can crochet one but have never woven anything. Girls here at the Ehtiopian shelter do it with recycled plastic bags and it is amazing what they can come up with. Even colorful designs. Very cool! Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteI've been a happy follower for some time now...love reading your adventures!
ReplyDeleteDuring the GYB party the name of your blog is one of my faves so /i just had to explore it. It's wonderful. I love your travel photos especially of Nova Scotia which is on my must see before I die list. I'm Canadian but have traveled more in Europe than in Canada! I love your basket work. I knew nothing about this art form before so I'm looking forward to following you and learning more. I do a little knitting ( at least I collect yarn!) but my biggest passion is jewelry making. Please drop by and visit.

ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Plum Hollow and following me. Your crafts suit me just fine! I'd LOVE to know how to weave baskets. My great uncle used to cane chair seats. That's as close as I ever got to that medium.

I'm now a follower.
Your pendant is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI made a basket once, years ago, and would actually like to try it again. I need to look around for supplies locally.

There is a class going on in our area that is all about making baskets out of pine needles. Beautiful finished projects. Your baskets are also so very pretty. I love the pendant as well and love the beautiful colors. I would love to enter for the drawing. My email address is MissLindaLee@ec.rr.com and I'm, at this moment, your newest follower. ReplyDeleteI messed up the comment I made earlier. Here is the corrected one....
ReplyDelete"Thanks for visiting my blog. I have enjoyed visiting yours. I plan to read a bit more but thought I would add my comment now. Pine Needle baskets are something I have seen, especially when I lived in NW Fla. where there were pine needles EVERYwhere! But I have never tried to learn. I did buy a book once though but unfortunately that was as far as I got.
Hello Terri- Thank you for visiting my blog and leading me to yours. I'm away RV-living these days and have an android tablet (can't use with dial up) and it has given me trouble to the point of giving up. However I'm glad I visited. Nother wrong with having more than one hobby, lol. I'm picturing all the pine needles I have and wondering if ever I could make something as beautiful as you have. The other thing is sweetgrass, I know the minute I come into contact, walking or the side of the road but can't find it. Don't know what I'm looking for I guess. I love it always have since I learned how to bead taught from elders Odawa, Ojibwe in Ontario. I've used porcupine for crafts and on a trinket box but not pine needles, i find them interesting, I'm going to look them up and see how to do this. Your work is wonderful, congratulations on winning first place. I followed numbers of other pages and you visited PEI, and NS as well NB. We will have to meet up next time.
ReplyDeleteHi Terry, so glad to know you and your lovely blog.. The baskets you make are awesome! Love your knitting and the sweetgrass pendant is beautiful. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm your 100th follower! Hugs:)
